2014 Treana Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

2014 Treana Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

94 Points! and Editors' Choice! - Wine Enthusiast

“For lovers of the rich and ripe Paso Robles style, this is a high-value wine. Aromas of candied black cherry and vanilla pudding meet with roasted game and crushed gravel on the nose. Vanilla holds strong into the palate, where it blends with blueberry syrup and blackened caramel. Well-measured acidity and chalky tannins complete the experience.” Editors' Choice and 94 points. - Wine Enthusiast

The same trinity of elements that inspired the Hope family to move to Paso Robles nearly four decades ago was also the inspiration for their iconic label: Treana. Inspired by the warm, nurturing sun, the cool breezes of the sea, and the rich nutrients of the soil, Treana wines capture the unique essence of California’s Central Coast. By working closely with family farms, we source grapes that capture the truest varietal characteristics for our flagship brand. The care that goes into each bottle ensures an exceptional experience whether you choose to enjoy a bottle tonight or let it age for a special occasion.

85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Syrah (usual retail $30)

2014 Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

2014 Hall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 Points! - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

“This color is a saturated purple, and the wine rich, chewy and unctuously textured, with ripe tannin and a round, juicy mouthfeel.” - Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate

Since first working in her family’s Mendocino vineyards, Kathryn Hall dreamed of a place to showcase fine wines alongside expressive art and masterful architecture. Now, Kathryn and Craig Hall are creating an unrivalled destination in the Napa Valley - where winemaking excellence and innovation meets contemporary design to celebrate life and inspire the senses.

The Halls acquired the historic St. Helena Bergfeld Winery in 2003 and re-opened as HALL St. Helena in July of that year. In addition to the impressive St. Helena winery and tasting room, HALL Rutherford, which was purchased in 1995 with the Grand Opening in March, 2005, boasts a state-of-the-art winery amid the legendary Sacrashe Vineyard in the hills of Rutherford that is dedicated to making single vineyard and limited-production wines.  HALL’s estate vineyards encompass more than 500 acres of classic Bordeaux varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. Under the artisan-ship of winemaker Steve Leveque, HALL Wines continue to set new heights in Napa Valley winemaking.   (usual retail $ $60)

2013 Tara Bella Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon, Russian River Valley AVA

2013 Tara Bella Sonoma Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Russian River Valley AVA

Gold Medal! - San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

The 2013 vintage is a fragrant, complex wine. The nose is full with the aromas of rich caramel and ripe berries. Flowing smoothly through many layers, beginning with the warm tartness of sour cherries. The earth is ever-present; mineral and mushroom tell the story of the terroir. Bittersweet chocolate melts on the tongue in this impressive wine to begin the finish. The roll of the wine is relaxing as you are taken on journey. This wine pairs perfectly with your favorite cheeses and charcuterie.

When Kevin and Wendy Morrow purchased the winery and vineyards in 2010, 6 acres Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard were already established. In 1997, three acres of the Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted. Then in 2005, with Kevin’s assistance, it was decided that the remaining three acres would be planted Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon.

Today Tara Bella primarily produces two wines—their Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate Clone 4 grapes, and their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate Clone 7 grapes. They also make a very small amount of a refreshing Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon and Portal, a knockout dessert wine, both produced from estate Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 7. Only 341 cases produced.   (usual retail $75)

2012 Va Piano Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

2012 Va Piano Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 Points! - Wine Advocate

90 Points! - Wine Enthusiast

“This wine brings aromas of blackberry, dates and spice. The palate displays abundant cherry flavors with lightly chalky tannins.” - Wine Enthusiast, 90 points

“This wine is all about balance. A rich, opulent wine, the soft, polished tannins and just a touch of acidity create a balanced, elegant and approachable Cabernet, even in its youth. 2012 ended up being one of the best vintages in recent history in Washington, and this wine is a great example of what turned out to be an almost perfect year, yielding ripe but balanced wines.” - Justin Wylie, winemaker.

82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Only 441 cases produced. (usual retail $50)
