The only transverse mountain range in the country--one that runs west to east instead of north to south--creates one of the most diverse winemaking regions in the world. The average temperature rises about 1 degree per mile traveled away from the sea, creating ideal microclimes for every varietal. Santa Barbara County is blessed with ample sunshine, but also cooling ocean breezes and fog that bring balancing acidity to the ample fruitiness. Discover why Santa Barbara is world-renown for fine wine--and save up to 50% on this sample pack!

The Sagebrush Annie’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from a selection of Larry Hogan’s Santa Barbara County vineyard properties that consistently turn out some incredibly special grapes, and award winning wines. With over 100 Gold Medals since 2005, Larry Hogan is proving his Cabernet Sauvignon (and this little-known area of Santa Barbara County) can easily compete with the big boys.
Garnet in color, this Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of floral honey, sandalwood, buttery praline, and sweet spice. The palate is juicy and silky with flavors of bright red fruit, layers of herbs, spice, and oak, and hints of mahogany, coffee, and brown sugar. (usual retail $48)

2012 Lincourt Annie Dyer Pinot Noir

2012 Lincourt Annie Dyer Pinot Noir

This 2014 Annie Dyer Pinot Noir showcases dark fruit tones and heavy oak notes. Intense aromatics of raspberry and black cherry cola leap from the glass followed by a slightly sweet palate with hints of blackberries and cream. This wine has a round, lush mouthfeel supported by bold tannins, leading into a finish of cassis, pomegranate and black pepper.

This wine is bold and complex and pairs nicely with a juicy, hearty steak. “Love this deep bold Pinot with smoke and baking spice notes; amazing young blackberries with creamy vanilla lends itself to Shabu Shabu- thin sliced rib eye glazing in boiling water with root vegetables. The deep berry notes intensifies the rich luscious meat and the spice and herbal dr aw definitely is a success with the vegetables.” – Robert Smith, Master Sommelier (usual retail $50)

2015 Lucas & Lewellen Rose de Santa Barbara

2015 Lucas & Lewellen Rose de Santa Barbara

A saignee of hand-harvested Malbec for its high tone fruity notes and Pinot Noir for strawberry yeasty attributes was blended with Viognier to add floral flavors. Once crushed, the grapes were left on their pigmented skin for several hours, then gently pressed and the delicious pink juice was cold fermented to preserve fresh flavors of berries, wet stone, and alyssum blossoms. Crisp on entry with a lilting minerality and bright finish, this Rosé pairs beautifully with goat cheese, picnic fare, cioppino, and summer salads. (usual retail $20)

2012 Firestone Sta rita Hills Chardonnay

2012 Firestone Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay

The 2012 offers a bouquet of crèmebrulee and lemon meringue pie. The palate shows great complexity layered with flavors of coconut, panna cotta, nutmeg and vanilla wafer that lingers on the finish. There is a nice mineral backbone to this delicate wine. (usual retail $18)
