Always a late-ripener, our Estate Petit Verdot benefits from a long growing season. With longer hang-times in hot days and cool nights, the Petit Verdot develops complex black fruit flavors. Extended ageing in French oak barrels for 30 months allows these flavors to mature and integrate with spicy oak flavors and pronounced tannins. Raspberry pie, pine, and cocoa notes on the nose segue into rich flavors of molé sauce, freshly brewed coffee, and strawberry-rhubarb tart. The solid tannin structure lends this wine to pairing with hearty meals now as well as to softening over several years in the cellar.
