2009 was a beautiful California vintage. This Estate Petite Sirah spent over four years in barrel, giving this wine a sultry and spicy nose. Aromas of dried cranberry and blueberry are encased in cocoa and tobacco. The tannins have developed fully and are as soft and supple as you will ever find in a Petite Sirah. The lingering fruit and spice last well into the five minute mark on the finish. This is the filet mignon of wines, meant to be enjoyed by itself on a cold winter evening next to a roaring fire.
