California Restaurant Month: Marinus

If you're in Carmel Valley, California, we highly recommend a visit to Marinus, one of the region's most highly acclaimed restaurants!

Marinus, the casual, European bistro-style restaurant in the Carmel Valley, continues to win accolades year after year from the reputable likes of Wine Enthusiast Magazine and Zagat. Perhaps this is because of Chef Cal Stamenov and the “California Natural cuisine” genre he greatly helps shape with his own creativity. Maybe it’s the wine selection containing over 1,800 fine domestic and foreign wines. Whatever the reason, Marinus Restaurant has rightly earned the praise it has received.

Marinus offers three exclusive dining experiences. The first option is dining at The Chef’s Table, a table located in the kitchen which has served Julia Childs, Eric Ripert and Leonardo DiCaprio. Here, Chef Cal Stamenov will personally serve groups of five or less, with recipes that highlight seasonal, local ingredients that are at the peak of freshness. Second is the option for eight or less people to sit in the award-winning Wine Cellar for a chef-prepared meal that showcases Marinus’ unsurpassed wine selection. And option number three is the Magnum Room, where up to twelve guests can enjoy a luxurious four-, five-, or eight-course meal featuring seasonal dishes that Chef Cal prepares himself. The limited hours of operations – Marinus is only opened Wednesdays through Sundays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm – only increase this restaurant’s sense of exclusivity.

Though exclusive, Marinus accepts reservations from both Bernardus Hotel visitors and restaurant-only guests alike. All can enjoy Marinus, the epitome fine California dining.

When we went for an official trip to California last year we had our breakfast from Marinus and it was a tremendous experience for all of us. The Marinus guys really made us happy with their delicious foods and too good service. I love to go there once again.
