California Restaurant Month: Towne House Restaurant

Towne House Restaurant in Lodi, California is a space for visitors and locals alike to gather and share in the abundance of the region. This communal, homegrown approach to food really sets Towne House apart in the Lodi appellation. Their focus is on the freshest, purest ingredients and the belief that if the ingredients are of excellent quality, this quality will translate through in each dish.

Nestled within the Wine & Roses wine hotel, the Towne House Restaurant offers a full menu for any time of day along with a lounge menu and wine and cocktail list. No overly gourmet, stuffy, needlessly complicated recipes here! If you’re craving a breakfast bagel with pure, simple flavors you can taste in each bite, perhaps the house smoked Scottish salmon bagel with capers, a hardboiled egg, red onions, cream cheese and lemon will do the trick. When lunch rolls around and you can’t decide what you feel like eating, one look at the carefully categorized menu will surely help you decide. The lunch menu is broken down into “S”, “M”, and “L”: “S” being “small, sharing, succulent, superb, smooth”, “M” being “medium, moist, mouth-watering, melty”, and “L” being “large, luscious, layered, lightly”. Whether you have your mind set on a light or heavy lunch, there’s bound to be something on the menu to tempt your taste buds. For dinner, you can choose from “a taste of the farm”, “a taste of the garden”, “a taste of the ranch”, or “a taste of the ocean”, all of which are from nearby, local regions to Lodi.  And of course, this is wine country so there’s a local Lodi wine (or beer or cocktail) to go with any dish and any meal.

The restaurant is an historical site in San Joaquin County, and the history of California’s farming culture is prevalent in its locally grown menu. The Towne family has long been involved in their community, and their home was often a meeting place for their friends and neighbors. It is with this same attitude of community and family that Towne House’s team embraces its guests and shares with them the warm, comforting, tasty traditions upon which Towne House Restaurant was founded.
